Materials
Ordinary body armor is typically generated from iron, but some items (like elven, dwarvish, and orcish variants) may use specific materials based on their origins. Mithril-coats are made of mithril. Dragon scale mails are made from dragon hide. Materials affect weight, color, and certain interactions in the game.
Dragon scale mails and dragon scales
Dragon scale mails are changed from NetHack. They are heavier and incur a spell casting penalty, except for white dragon scale mails that are conductive of magic and incur no such penalty. Thus, except for the white variant, dragon scale mails are not a very good choice for a wizard. Dragon scale mails cannot be mythic or legendary.
- Black dragon scale mail
- Blue dragon scale mail
- Gray dragon scale mail
- Green dragon scale mail
- Orange dragon scale mail
- Red dragon scale mail
- Silver dragon scale mail
- White dragon scale mail — No spell casting penalty
- Yellow dragon scale mail
Dragons sometimes drop dragon scales that can be crafted into dragon scale mails. Dragon scales are weaker versions of dragon scales mails, improving AC only by 3 and yielding merely one (usually the weakest) of the powers conferred by the corresponding dragon scale mail.
- Black dragon scales — No death resistance
- Blue dragon scales
- Gray dragon scales — No magic resistance
- Green dragon scales
- Orange dragon scales — No free action
- Red dragon scales
- Silver dragon scales — No reflection
- White dragon scales — No spell casting penalty
- Yellow dragon scales — No petrification resistance
Mithril-coats
Mithril-coats can be mythic or legendary.
